Defibrillation Energy Calculator

Turn the patient's weight into the actual joule doses for defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, initial and subsequent, for adults and children.

In a code, the energy dose is weight-based math you do not want to be doing. Two joules per kilogram, then four, then a ceiling you have to remember not to cross, all while running the rest of the algorithm and watching the clock.

The defibrillation energy calculator does that arithmetic ahead of you. From the patient's weight it returns the actual joule numbers for defibrillation, the first shock and the escalation that follows, and for synchronized cardioversion when the rhythm has a pulse.

Adult and pediatric dosing are handled from the same patient profile, so a child's per-kilogram doses and an adult's device-range numbers both come out in joules you can read off and dial in. It is built for the moment the monitor alarms, not for studying afterward.

What's included

  • Weight-based defibrillation energy, initial and subsequent
  • Synchronized cardioversion doses for unstable rhythms with a pulse
  • Pediatric per-kilogram dosing with the safe ceiling applied
  • Adult biphasic ranges alongside the monophasic figure
  • Every dose driven by the shared patient profile
