Anesthesia Implications

Use PO in pre-op for acute pain following surgery in patients who need a multimodal pain plan. Good for cases that are longer as the peak onset is 24 hours after administration. A one time 400mg administration of celecoxib was shown to decrease need for larger dosages of oral analgesic medication post-operatively.
